Sing is pleased to announce that the evening speaker program has been scheduled and will include three presentations will surely be of interest to all.

In September, we will learn the history of making salt in the low country.  Our speaker will be Bertha Booker who is the founder of Botany Bay Sea Salt – which is based right here on Wadmalaw Island.  Her talk, titled “The Charleston Salt Farmer” will surely provide us with one more taste of the South.

Our October speaker will be Shawn Halifax, the Cultural History Interpretation Coordinator for McLeod Plantation.  In this presentation, we will learn “What’s New at McLeod Plantation” and how the preservationists are working to ensure we can learn from the past.

Satch Krantz, President and CEO of the Riverbanks Zoo will be our speaker in November.   The Riverbanks Zoo, a leader in wildlife conservation, is the largest gated tourist attraction in South Carolina.  Mr. Krantz, a recognized and awarded authority,  will talk to us about the “Riverbanks Zoo & the Plight of African Animals“.
